Eye diseases
Eye diseases are disorders of the eyes. Something may not be physically wrong with the eyes, but seeing poorly can come about because the brain is not processing the signals well.
Genetic or congenial
Eye diseases may be genetic or congenial while other eye conditions are connected to age or related to risk factors (for example diabetes). Other factors could also cause eye diseases, such as trauma (as a result of a car accident, for example).
Referral to an ophthalmologist
In principle, you are referred to Visio after you have been treated by an ophthalmologist. The ophthalmologist will provide you with a referral. Visio examines your remaining vision and determines what you can still see. Visio then gives you advice about practical issues regarding how you can manage further with your decreased vision.
