SeeSaw method
SeeSaw helps you observe how a child responds to light, colour and movement. It allows you to map out simple visual reactions, such as noticing, looking at something and visually tracking. Step by step, you discover what a child can see and how you can build on that.
Who is SeeSaw for?
You use SeeSawwith young children who have a severe visual impairment, or with people with multiple disabilities who have a developmental age of up to about eighteen months. The method offers clear insight into their visual abilities, so you can support their development with confidence.
For professionals who make a difference every day
SeeSaw is designed for professionals who work with young children with visual impairments and/or people with multiple disabilities. This includes developmental specialists, occupational therapists, itinerant counsellors, orthoptists and childcare professionals.
To interpret the child’s responses well, it helps to have some experience observing children with visual impairments. This ensures you get a reliable and complete picture of what the child needs to continue growing.
