Together with partner organisations from France, Ireland, Belgium and Italy, Koninklijke Visio coordinates the Erasmus+ project Taste of Independence. This project focuses on improving self-determination and daily independence for people with multiple disabilities and visual impairments (MDVI).
The project responds to the shared need across Europe for better tools and practices that help people with MDVI make their own choices, especially around meaningful daily activities like cooking and eating. Through co-creation with professionals, families and people with MDVI themselves, we aim to strengthen their voice, autonomy, and quality of life.
Main outputs include:
A European needs analysis on the topic of self-determination;
A toolbox to support professionals and family members in working with MDVI individuals on topics like food, health, and decision-making;
A set of self-determination sessions and training materials;
Broad dissemination to make results accessible across sectors and countries.
