International Week 2023
Registration for International Week is closed.
Royal Dutch Visio is working for blind and visually impaired persons for over 200 years. Visio is active in all fields of care and support for visually impaired people, namely education, rehabilitation and advice, day care and living facilities. We would like to share our knowledge, expertise and innovative ideas with our partners around the world. We therefore welcome you as our guest from 5 – 9 June 2023.
Programme
Monday 5 June - Visio the organisation – Plenary day
- Welcome and Introduction to Royal Dutch Visio organisation
- All participants getting to know each other
- Intro to the different Visio domains from the clients’ perspective
- Guided tour of the Visio premises ‘de Blauwe Kamer’ including living and day care centre and the Visio school for MDVI children
Tuesday 6 June - Thematic day at different locations
Thematic days; choose in the register form your top 2.
- Primary education
- Low vision assessment and rehabilitation
- MDVI Day care and living and education
Wednesday 7 June - Workshops and Knowledge Market
Morning programme
- Key note speech: Autonomy and empowerment of young people with VI
- Knowledge market
Afternoon programme

Practical information
We will follow the principle of first come, first served. The registration will be open until the maximum number has been reached with a deadline of 24 March 2023. More than three registrations per organisation can only be honoured when the maximum number is not reached on 24th of March.
Travelling
Participants have to book their own flights to the Netherlands and have to cover their own expenses for accommodation and travelling in the Netherlands. Preferred arrival date is: Sunday 4 June 2023 and departure date: Friday evening 9 June or Saturday 10 June 2023.
Estimated other costs (besides accommodation) per participant:
- Dinners: approx. € 30,- per person a day (one dinner will be hosted by Visio).
- Public transport: approx. € 15,- per person a day.
- Other private expenses.

We can suggest several hotels in Breda:
Note: You are welcome to book any accommodation of your choice. Most of the programme will take place in the city of Breda. Should we visit other Visio locations and transport will be arranged, this will be arranged from the Leonardo Hotel or we ask you to travel by train. Kindly keep this in mind.
Language
The working language of the International Week will be English.
