The recipe

In corporation with TNO, we investigate how spatial sound can be used to assist visually impaired and blind people with indoor navigation.

The ingredients

• 1 HoloLens
• 1 student from the University of Groningen
• 1 Visio school Haren
• 10 visually impaired and blind students
• 2 enthusiastic teachers

Method of preparation

The first half year, the students investigates the accuracy of Spatial Sound in terms of direction, distance and location in space. In the second half of the year, he experiments using a prototype if students can follow a route using Spatial Sound.

The results

A follow-the-mosquito game has been developed and at the end of July, research results will be published.
