Open Source Readers

NVDA (Non Visual Digital Access) is an open source screen reader for Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7. It offers free access for everyone. The package offers full Braille support and it is an excellent and extensive package for traditional screen readers.

 

Commercial screen readers

There are a number of commercial screen readers on the market. The most well-known ones are:

  • Supernova
  • Jaws
  • Windows eyes
  • Screen readers connected to an operating system
